James Eager, son of William Eager (1629 - 1690) and brother of Abraham, was born Sep. 21, 1686 in Marlborough, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He married Tabitha Howe (1684 - 1755)* on APRIL 2 1713More information about this family can be found in the History of Northborough by josiah Coleman[1]
James died Jun. 7, 1755 in Westborough[2][3][4], and he is buried at Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough, Worcester County, Massachusetts.
Tabitha was the daughter of Thomas Howe and Sarah Hosmer. They had 4 children:[5]

"Built on land given by Capt. James Eager, Northborough's first Meeting House stood about where the First Congregational Unitarian Church is today, on Church Street."[6]
James was one of the wealthiest men in town; in 1756 he donated land for the church.
