Biography

James Eager was born March 16, 1720, the son of James Eager and Tabitha Howe of Marlborough, Massachusetts^[1]. The family moved to Westborough before 1723, when his younger sister Lidia was born^[2], his father died there^[3], and James is referred to as James Jr in the birth records for his children. On March 13, 1745, James married Miriam Wheeler in Westborough, MA^[5] , and their children were born in WEstincluded^{[6] [7] [3]} :

1. Zilpha, born Oct. 30, 1745^[7]
2. Meriam, born Nov. 5, 1747^[6], who married Ebenezer Cutler^[5] and moved to Nova Scotia
3. James, twin born May 25, 1749^[6], who died four days later^[3]
4. Joseph, twin born May 25, 1749^[6], who died the same day^[3]
5. Abraham, born, June 19, 1750^[6], who died at 2 days^[8]
6. Hesadiah, born, July 15, 1751^[6],who married Zaccheus Cutler of Amherst, who was Ebenezer Cutler's brother^[9]
7. James born, July 2, 1754^[6]
8. John born, June 7, 1757^[6]

The family is also recorded in Northborough, where James died March 3, 1761, at age 40^[8]. His probate file was administered in Westborough^[10]
