Biography

Mary Earle was born on 19 Feb 1702/03 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island to John Earle and Mary Waite. Mary married Job Durfee in 1734 as his second wife (his first wife, Elizabeth Chase, having recently died.) John was a Yeoman who was also Deputy to the General Assembly of Rhode Island in 1761-62 and 1764. They would have 5 children together before Mary died in 1759 at the age of 56. Job would go on to marry a 3rd time, to Sarah Brayton, before dying himself in 1774 at the age of 63.
