DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA test-takers in his direct paternal line.
Mitochondrial DNA test-takers in the direct maternal line:
Earle-1414 and Earle-365 appear to represent the same person because: Earle-1414 accidentally created as duplicate because birth record is unknown and differing estimates for the birth year cause them not to show up as matches. But both profiles are of men who married Mehitable Brayton of Portsmouth, daughter of Francis, so they are clearly the same. The birth year given at Earle-1414 is from "Mayflower Families through Five Generations". It is estimated from the known marriage date which is missing from Earle-365 but can be found in Arnold's RIVR -- 25 June 1718.
