David Eaton was of the fifth generation from John and Anne Eaton. David Eaton also had a nephew by the name of Daniel Eaton, MD.

In 1751 David moved from Massachusetts to Tolland, Connecticut and married Deborah White on Oct. 19th of that year. Deborah was the daughter of Thomas White and Sarah Miller and a great, great, great granddaughter of Elder John White of Cambridge, Mass and of Hartford, Conn.

In the spring or early summer of 1761 between the births of their 6th and 7th children David moved with many other Connecticut people to Nova Scotia. That colony having been depopulated by the expulsion of the French in 1755.

After accumulating a large and valuable property which he divided among his children on their several marriages, he died in Cornwallis on what is now known as Canard Street on 17 Jul 1803. Both he and his wife are buried in the old burying ground call Jaw Bone Cemetery near Hamilton's corner, a few rods from their home, where they lived, but no stone or monument marked their resting place. In 1885 a monument was installed that reads "Now let us praise famous men and their Fathers that begat us'.

He and Deborah (White) Eaton were the parents of 15 children.

In 1786, David Eaton was listed in the census of Cornwallis Township, Kings County with 9 horses or mares, 6 oxen or bulls, 16 cows, 26 young cattle, 40 sheep and 19 hogs.

In 1791, David Eaton, Sr., farmer, paid a poll tax of 5 shillings in Cornwallis Township, Kings Co,.

In 1795, David Eaton, Sr., paid a poll tax of 6 shillings, 10 pence in Cornwallis Township, Kings Co,.

David wrote his Last Will and Testament 8 Jul 1803, leaving bequests to sons Stephen, Elisha, Timothy, Elijah, James and John and daughter Sarah and son-in-law Abel Strong, daughter Prudence and son-in-law John Wells, daughter Susanna and son-in-law Henry Cox and daughter Deborah and son-in-law John Manning. The will was probated 21 Jul 1803. [1][2]

He died 17 Jul 1803, aged 74, and is buried at Jaw Bone Corner Cemetery in Canard, Kings Co., NS.[3] The inscription on the tombstone says: "David Eaton, 1 April 1729 - 17 July 1803, native of Massachusetts. His wife, Deborah White, 19 May 1732 - 20 May 1790. a native of Connecticut. Now let us praise famous men and the fathers that begat us. 1973."

It seems very unlikely that the lead statement: "David was listed as a Investment Banker" could be correct. He owned a very large farm in Cornwallis Township (Canard, Kings County). Is there any source for this banking statement?

Before marking a parent as 'confirmed with DNA,' please ensure that the necessary DNA test matching information is included in the profile for at least two testers, including where the DNA tests were matched, the amount of shared DNA, and the estimated relationships. Also include the MRCA and how the testers relate to each other.

You can see what is required under the DNA Confirmation (click) topic of WikiTree's Help pages, as well as examples.

Thank you.
