Lucinda Clarina (Eaton) Hopkins was born in 1833 in Ohio. She passed away in 1912.
(from Mattie Streeter's memoir:)
Grandma Lucida told of being blind until she was twelve years old. One day, when her parents had gone into town, she and her sisters were playing hide-and-seek, when all of a sudden, she could see them. They were frightened and ran to meet their parents, screaming "Cindy can see! Cindy can see!" I remember Grandma saying that her mother said, "Cindy, close your eyes, so the light won't hurt them." But her eyes were all right, and they thanked God for answering their prayers. In later years her sight was dim again.[1]
