Biography

Mary Eaton, daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Coombs) Eaton, was born about 1699, probably in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where her parents lived. She was named in the 1745 will of her father. Mary was a descendant of Mayflower passengers Francis Eaton and Degory Priest.[1][2]

Mary married 9 Jun 1720 at Plympton, Massachusetts, Zachariah Soule (1694-1721), son of Benjamin Soule, and descended from Mayflower passenger George Soule.[1][3]

Mary's husband Zachariah died in 1751. His will named his wife Mary, sons Jabez, Zachry [sic], Ephraim, James, daughters Sarah Tinkham, Mary, Hannah, Eunice and Loes [sic].[1]

Mary Soule died 14 May 1773 in her 74th year in Middleborough, Massachusetts, at the home of her son-in-law Seth Tinkham.[1][3] She was buried in the Nemasket Cemetery in Middleborough.[3][4]

5 July 1773 Ephraim "Soul" of Plimpton was appointed to administer the estate of Mary Soul late of Plympton, widow deceased.[5] An inventory was take 12 July 1773.[1][6][7]
