Biography
Katherine was born about 1583
She married John Robinson. John's first known child was baptised in Flitton with Silsoe in 1603
John was buried on 4 Nov 1627 at Meppershall, Beds.[1]
"Widow Robinson" married Ishmaell Thorton in Meppershall, Bedfordshire in an undated entry above the BT for 1630.[2] It's reasonable given John's 1627 death to assume that this is his widow.
She passed away about 1646. There are no parish registers and BTs for this period.

A litany of woe -
- There is no baptism for Katherine in Flitton with Silsoe
- There's no marriage for John Robinson in Flitton with Silsoe
- The baptisms of their children only name the father
- On her 1630 remarriage she is only named as widow Robinson
- Her burial record is lost
A glimmer of light! BARS holds her husband's will. John Robinson of Meppershall, farrier. 1627. It should name her. Unless of course he just refers to her as "my beloved wife", which has been known!
My cup runneth over! She made a will. Held at BARS Katherine Thornton of Meppershall, widow. Made 27 Oct 1642. Proved 15 May 1647.[3]
The Cookie Monster was right so far as her first name is concerned. How did he confirm her LNAB?
