At the time of the 1880 US Census, head of household John Edge (age 60, born in Georgia) was occuped as a Lawyer and living in District 784, Douglas, Georgia, with his wife, Clara Edge (age 55, born in Georgia), their son Jesse Edge (age 21, born in Georgia), daughter Kate Edge (age 12, born in Georgia), daughter Elen Edge (age 25, born in Georgia), granddaughter Nrsey Edge (age 4, born in Georgia), and granddaughter Gurty Edge (age 2, born in Georgia). Both of John's parents were born in Georgia; both of Clara's parents were born in Georgia. All of the Edge family were listed as White except for daughter Elen Edge and Nrsey and Gurty Edge who were Black.
