Richard was 19, a mason and the son of George Norridge who was also a mason. Sarah was 20 and the daughter of John Edgington who was a labourer. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were George Edgington and Rose Edgington[2].

The household comprises of the parents, Richard and Sarah and their children George, Ernest, Adelaide and Jessie. They also have a servant - laundry maid named Elizabeth Edgington living with them, who must be related to Sarah. Richard is a Mason by profession and Sarah is a Laundress. [3]
On the 1901 census, the family are living at In the Village, Kirtlington, Bicester, Oxfordshire, England. The family comprises, the parents Richard and Sarah and their children, Margaret, Ernest, Adelaide, Jessie, Jane E, Agnes, Hilda and Evelyn D. [4]
