Biography

Dr. Edmondson a/k/a C.C. Edmondson was born in 1895 in Memphis, TN. He was the son of W.C. Edmondson and Lydia Creighton Edmondson. He attended Southwestern Presbyterian University, and then graduated with a B.A. and an M.D., with honors, from the University of Tennessee in 1921.

He married Margaret Oakley Miller in a joint wedding with Jane Price Miller and Rev. Ira Holt on June 12, 1920 in Memphis, TN.

He moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where he joined the medical staff of The Spa, a private hospital treating heart disease patients and diabetics from all over the U.S. He specialized in the treatment of diabetes, nephritis, hypertension, metabolic and endocrine disorders. The Spa was sold in March 1940, and Dr. Edmondson established a private practice in internal medicine with particular reference to diabetes and rheumatic diseases. He practiced successfully until his retirement in 1964.

He was chief of staff and chief of medicine at Waukesha Memorial Hospital; he headed the Waukesha County Medical Society for one term; and was past president of the Waukesha Rotary Club and the YMCA.

He and Margaret Miller, whom he probably met while attending Southwestern Presbyterian University in Clarksville, TN where her family resided, had two children Margaret Creighton and Dr. Robert Campbell. He had one sister, Lydia Eugenia 'Genie', who also moved from Memphis to Waukesha and married Donald W. Barney.

Dr. Edmondson died in 1968 at the Waukesha County Home and his cremains were buried in the C.C. Edmondson M.D. - D. W. Barney family gravesite at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, Wisconsin. [1]
