John Edwards was born in 1818 and baptised on 14 Jun 1818 at Clee Hill Weslayan Chapel, Caynham, Shropshire, England. He was the son of Thomas Edwards and Elizabeth Wood.^[1]

John Edwards married Sarah Maria Broom (daughter of Hamlet or Amphlet Broom) on 24 Dec 1848 at Knowbury, Shropshire.^[2] They had at least four children.

John was a coal miner and lived in Cainham, Shropshire.

John Edwards died in 1894 and was buried on 25 Apr 1894 at St. Paul, Knowbury, Shropshire.^[3]
