Lived with wife Violet in Algerian Cottage (no idea why named) above and overlooking Cold Oak Cottage. (Recall rethatching in mid 50's).

He worked at Clee Hill quarries and apparently had the job of opening the rail carts to disgorge loads, this would explain his dusty appearance when he arrive home.
