Biography

Hattie May was born Sep. 24, 1884 in Nashville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of William Jackson Edwards and Sarah Jane Wilson. She married (1) Joseph Gulit (1902). They had at least two children (Joye and Cecil). They were divorced. She was married (2) Richard Hughes on 13 July 1918 in Chehalis, Washington.^[1] He died in a logging accident on 28 Jul 1921.^[2] She and Richard had at least one daughter named Eileen. Hattie married (3) Ernest Kalbus in Centralia, Washington on 10 May 1924. Ernest died on 20 Jun 1924, less than six weeks after their marriage.^[3][4] She did not marry again. She died August 20, 1958 in Centralia, Lewis, Washington and was buried in Greenwood Memorial Park, Centralia.
