Sgnlmn Albert Edwards was Killed in Action during World War II.

Albert was born in 1916, the son of Gerald Edwards and Sylvia Hughes.

Albert was single and living at 11 St Albans Avenue, Auckland when the 2nd World War broke out. He enlisted and served as a Signalman; 2 Divisional Signals; 2nd New Zealand Expeditionery Forces, 1st Echelon. His next of kin was recorded as Mrs S. Edwards (mother), Bletsoe Avenue, Spreydon , Christchurch, New Zealand. His occupation was recorded as Telephone Exchange Operator.

Tragically he was killed in action on 1 December 1941 in the Western Desert, North Africa, Africa. He was 25 years of age.

Knightsbridge War Cemetery, Acroma, Libya. GRAVE REFERENCE 14. B. 14[1]
