Biography

Justin Edwards, born about August 1752 at Northampton, Massachusetts, was the second child of Jerusha (Alvord; 1730-1798) & Noah Edwards (1722-1805) [1].

He married first, in 1778, Elizabeth Clark (b. 5 Dec 1756 @ Northampton, daughter of Benjamin Clark) [2].

There may have been several children of this family, these of whom are documented:

  • Jesse Edwards, 1784 – 28 October 1855; married 1) Naomi Alvord; 2) Dorcas Alvord [3]
  • Justin Edwards, 25 April 1787 – 19 July 1853; married Lydia Bigelow [4]

After the death of his first wife, in December 1792, Justin Edwards married second, Mary (Bartlett; 1756-1827), daughter of Mary (Parsons) & William Bartlett [5]. Their children were:

  • Mary Edwards, 1797 – 19 March 1860; married David Haskell
  • William Everett Edwards, 1799 – 1866; married Catharine Clark

Justin Edwards died 4 Oct 1816 at Westhampton, Massachusetts. His grave is in Center Cemetery, Westhampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA [6].
