DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
This woman is Edwards, there is NO discussion about her name, it is her husband's name that is under discussion. There is absolutely no reason to stop the merge.
Regarding the surname Cochran, if there is no agreement on how to proceed with a "Standardized" spelling of this surname there will new profiles with differing spellings will continue to be created.
Edwards-15443 and Edwards-3744 are not ready to be merged because: Need to come to an agreement on the Cochran surname spelling. The spelling changes from place to place and person to person. I would recommend citing local records for each person. Then I will agree to a merge
FYI: I can tell everyone that In order to sort this family, requires the examination of all primary records and any kind of recorded local history. In the example of the Patrick County bunch, even tax records were needed to place child with parent. And the name Brice Edwards is not as unique as I first thought. And I have no other branch, that I am aware, who would somehow communicate with relatives in several different distant counties to agree to migrate to a new location.
I haven't found source for Mary's parents. Also don't know where the middle name Preston came from. I have always thought Brice Edwards was her father because the name Brice is used
Edwards-15443 and Edwards-3744 appear to represent the same person because: while the names and the dates are the same on both profiles, it was indicated through a rejected merge that these are not the same woman. Can the profile managers please take a look and provide the necessary sources to prove why they are not the same person. Thank you !
in the Cochran descendants.
