Elizabeth Edwards was born circa 1719, in Westmoreland county, Virginia, a daughter of John Edwards and Jane Arrington. [1] On May 21, 1738, in Overwharton Parish, Stafford county, Virginia, Elizabeth married William King. Elizabeth and William became the parents of twelve children, at least four of which are Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Ancestors:

Thomas King, born circa 1759, in Stafford county, Virginia
Elizabeth appears in Stafford County Rent rolls in 1768, so her husband appears to have been deceased by then. Elizabeth sold the plantation, owned by her husband, and moved with her children to Augusta County, Virginia, where she was still living in 1790, when she was named in the Will of her son, Valentine King. [7]
Descendants claim Elizabeth (Edwards) King moved to Nelson county, Kentucky and died at the home of one of her children in 1792, in Boone's Lookout, Nelson county, Kentucky.
