Biography

Mary Gilaspie was enumerated at Post Office Elyton, Kendalville Precinct, Jefferson County, Alabama for the June 15, United States Census, 1860. She was noted as born 1833 in Alabama and marked as unable to read or write as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are male David Gilaspie, male John C T Gilaspie and male Ira P Gilaspie.^[1]

Mary Gillespie passed away in 1919.^[2]

Mary Edwards was listed as the mother of John C. Gillespie who died January 30, 1926 in Morris, Jefferson County, Alabama. The father was listed as David Gillespie and the wife Leila Gillespie.^[3]
