Elizabeth (Edwards) Mullis was born in about 1665, location unknown. She died in 1745 in Christ Church Parish, Lancaster County, Virginia Colony.[1]
Per partition of land settlement of 1685, Elizabeth was daughter of John Edwards and wife of John Mullis. The lands of her father were divided between her (with husband, John) and Thomas Brewer in Lancaster County, Colonial Virginia, 450 acres to each heir.[2]
In 1685 Elizabeth Mullis inherited 450 acres of land, her share of her deceased father's land. Her father was John Edwards, a cooper and land owner. One of her siblings (Thomas Brewer, supposedly the husband of a sister) came into an equal share. At that time, she was wife of John Mullis. Their domicile was in Christ Church Parish, Lancaster County, Virginia Colony, where John Edwards' lands were located.[3]
In a Gift Deed in 1702, the children of John and Elizabeth Mullis were as follows:[4]
The children would have been born between about 1682 and 1702.
A 1710 Amended Gift Deed reflected deaths of John and George, and lands gifted rearranged to accommodate deaths, and by which time daughters Abigail and Elizabeth had married to a Mr. Curtis and Rhodes, respectively. Mary disappears from subsequent records (reason unknown).[5]
By 1722 John and Elizabeth's designated heirs had taken possession of lands bequeathed them in 1710.[6]
