Biography
Mary Eggleston born 1759 in Amelia County, Virginia was the daughter of Joseph Eggleston and Judith Cary Segar. She first married Benjamin Ward who died on April 30th 1783. Secondly Mary married General Everard D. Meade of Nanseomd, Suffolk County, Virginia on 15 February 1788 in Amelia County. Some of their children were: Benjamin L. Meade who married Jane Elizabeth Hardaway and Mariann O. Meade, second wife of Dr. John G. Skelton. Mary passed away on 30 December 1830.
Burial: Meade Family Cemetery, Dykeland Road, Amelia County, Virginia
