Mary Ellen Iler Thunhorst

Mary Ellen Iler was born 10 January 1835 in Woodsboro, Frederick Maryland to Conrad John Iler, Jr. and Anna Maria Kemp.

When they were young ladies, Mary Ellen came west with her sister, Sarepta Ann, and located for a short time in Illinois, where Mary Ellen married John Henry Thunhorst and remained.

In 1864, Ann married Samuel Eyler (no relation) and moved at once to Wabaunsee, Kansas.

Mary Ellen and John had five children: Sarah, Charles Edward, Peter Cornelius, William Henry, and Alice.

She died 4 March 1900 in Harvel, Christian, Illinois.
