four sons John, David R. Jr., James T. and Samuel A.
four daughters Ann Gilcrest, Susan S. Elder, Mary F. Lanier and Martha C. Michael
executors wife Minerva C. Elder and son William E. Elder
PARENTAGE
David R Elder, assumed son of Edmonds Elder
Assumption of father based on the following:
1) Edmonds Elder's 1830 census in Clarke Co. GA, has male age 15-19
2) Edmonds Elder's 1840 census in Clarke Co. GA, has male age 20-29
3) Edmonds Elder's 1850 census shows this male married/disappeared.
4) David R Elder married in Sep-1840 in Clarke Co. GA (before 1850 census)
Note:
Hartwell Elder also has a son with the same 1840 criteria; born 1811-20, and married before 1850. Except that Hartwell Elder did not marry until 1817, so his son was born on/after 1817.
Therefore:
Edmond G Elder (b.1820) is child of Hartwell Elder (married 1817)
David R Elder (b.1813) is child of Edmond Elder (married 1810)
