Robert Elder was born on 12 Mar 1822 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States, son of Robert Elder (1790–1837) and Jane (McConaughy) Elder (1800–1829).
Robert died on 24 Sep 1851 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania, United States, aged 29.[1] He was buried in Ebenezer Cemetery, Lewisville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
Robert married Maria Ann (Leard) Elder (born on 11 May 1825 in Indiana County, Pennsylvania; daughter of Major John Leard and Mary Ann (Elder) Leard).
