Carrie was born in May of 1889 in Summerville, Chattooga County, Georgia, United States of America. She was the daughter of John Elder and Alice Abercrombie. She was the wife of Howard Clinton McGinnis (1880 - 1954) and lived in Birmingham for 60 years. She was a member of Walker Memorial Methodist Church. When she passed away September 27, 1970 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, United States of America she was survived by two sisters and a son. She is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, United States of America.[1]
