Biography
Emma Eldredge married Thomas Freeman at their home town of Falmouth, Massachusetts on October 25, 1788. Four children were born at Falmouth: William Freeman (born 1788); Lucy Smith Freeman (1791 to 1869); Esther Ryder Freeman (1794 to 1881); and Charles S. Freeman (1796 to 1872).
Before 1799, the family moved to Brewster (same county) where three more children were born: Judah E. Freeman (1799 to 1864); Emma E. Freeman (born in 1800); and Eunice Freeman (1802 to 1805).
Before 1805, the family again moved to Pittston (kennebec County), Maine, where the last of the Freeman children were born: Thomas Freeman, Jr. (born 1805 to 1829); Aurora B. Freeman (born in 1808); and Mary R. Freeman (1810 to 1881).
As the children were growing and leaving the house, a number of them with Thomas and Emma included, departed Maine (before 1840) for taking residence at Manchester (Dearborn County), Indiana.
