On 2nd July a wedding was celebrated at the Anglican Church, Wyan, when Clarice, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ellem, of Wyan, was married to William Andrew, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Burnett, of Wyan. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attired in ivory pailette, trimmed with guipure insertion and allover lace and pearls, and wore an embroidered tulle veil arranged with orange blossoms, the wreath and veil being the gift of a cousin. The bride carried a shower bouquet, the gift of Mrs. W. Ellem, Clarence River. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a handsome necklet set with emeralds and pearls.

MRS. E. I. C. BURNETT

The death occurred in Grafton Base Hospital, after a.short illness of Mrs. Ellen Irene Clarice Burnett (56), wife of Mr. William Andrew Burnett of 5 Maud Street, Grafton.

Mrs. Burnett was the daughter of Mrs. Isobella Ellem of Maud Street and the late Mr. John Ellem. She was born at Tatham, near Casino, and resided with her parents at Tatham and Wyan for many years prior to her marriage to Mr. Burnett.

She then resided with her husband at Wyan for 12 years and later at Coramba for 16 years, the last five years being spent in Grafton.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two sons and two daughters. The sons are Noel and Cecil (Grafton), and daughters Mrs. L. Johnson, of Grafton, and Beryl, of Coff's Jetty. Brothers are Percy Ellem (Kyogle), Lester Ellem (Banyabba), Roy Ellem (Dilkoon), and Reuben Ellem (Orange). A sister Is Mrs. Cook, of Bangalow.

The funeral took place in the C of E. portion of the Grafton cemetery.
