Note N901Only the last two children have baptismal records in Arthuret, which leads one to believe he came to Longtown from another parish. At present that is no more than conjecture although a Robert Elliot and a Margaret Baxter married in Romaldkirk in N Yorkshire in 1772. At the end of the eighteenth century there was a lot of building going on in Longtown so there would have been plenty of need for a glazier. The Arthuret gravestone says he was 80 when he died. Carlisle record office has a copy of his will dated and proved 1826. It is this will that identifies his children. Their order of birth has been given based on the will.
