Sarah Ann Elliott was born about 1716, probably in Baltimore County Maryland. She married John Greer Jr. Based on the research notes below it is likely the Greer family moved to Virginia around 1754. In 1765 when John Greer gifts John Mitchell, he does not have a wife. Sarah Ann Elliott Greer is presumed deceased at this time.

Isaac Low was married to John Mitchell's sister Sarah. In 1765 when John Greer gifts John Mitchell, he does not have a wife. Sarah Ann Elliott Greer is presumed deceased at this time. It appears John Greer and wife "Ann" were in Bedford Co VA from about 1754 until 1765 when John Greer gifts John Mitchell does not have a wife. Sarah Ann Elliott Greer is presumed deceased. In July of 1772 John Greer's wife "Ann" relinquishes dower and they moved to Wilkes Co NC. She is presumed Nancy Walker. These Mitchell families are traced from Bedford, VA into Wilkes, NC, into Barren & Warren Counties KY, into TN and are proved as matching per DNA
