1853 Birth and parentage
Catharine Elliott was born March 19, 1853 in Fishing Creek, Casey County, Kentucky to Austen [Austin] Elliott and Charlotte? [must be Christina] Black. [1]
1860 Census
Catherine's father Austin Elliott, age 45, was a farmer with real estate valued at $800 and a personal estate valued at $500. He was born in Casey County, where he now lives. His wife Christina is 37 years old.
Children are Catherine (7), Calvin T. (5), George W. (3), Susan (2), Dred E. [female] (1 month). Also living with the Elliotts is Phillip Fedrick (73), a pauper.[2]
