Biography

John Elliott was christened at Clones, Monaghan, Ireland, in January of 1812, a son of Francis Elliott and Margaret (Browne) Elliott.

He is thought to be the John Elliott who appears, aged about 50, in the 1861 Canadian census for Ontario at Hope, Durham, where his presumed brother James is also found.
