Biography
It was resolved in 1838 to organize the church and Fathers Core and M'Garrough organized the Presbyterian of Callensburg, with forty-five charter members. Benjamin Gardner, Thomas Elliott and John Over were elected and installed the first elders.
The deed for the Presbyterian Church lot was recorded in Kittaning in 1840. John Elliott, Thomas Elliott, Robert Wilson, Watson Callen, John Murray and the Craig brothers were all trustees in 1840. History of the Callensburg Presbyterian Church, page 290.
Thomas H Elliott was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Callensburg Male & Female Institute. Orrin A Elliott was a student in 1859 at the Institute. Latin & Greek cost $10 per 5-month session; Mathematics $8 per session; and English branches $6.
