Biography

[1][2] It appears as though her husband died before the birth of her only child, as the baptismal record states the late John Henderson of Annan. As the birth took place in her hometown of Arthuret we can only presume that she went home after her husband's death for her confinement. In her father's will of 1826 she was a widow of John Henderson, mariner of Annan. In the 1841 Census she is widowed and living with son John in Annan. In the 1851 census she is still there aged 70. She is described as a former cook. The IGI records John Henderson being born in Arthuret, Cumberland to a John Henderson and a Margaret Elliott. This is confirmed in her father's will.
