Acc to 1910 census found here (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/ML3J-NL5),John and family lived in Stewartsville, Scotland County, NC then.Also says his mom was born in NC not Wales, as the 1880 census noted.

JOHN H. ELLIOTT DIES AFTER NINE-DAY ILLNESS

Funeral Will be Conducted at 2 O'clock This Afternoon at Monroe-Leaves Six Children.

An illness of nine days of pneumonia resulted inn the death of John Holland Elliott Friday morning at 3 o'clock at his home, 1100 Williams street. He was formerlly superintendent at the Louise Cotton mill, but retired three years ago.

The funeral procession will leave the house at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon to Monroe, the funeral service to be held at the West Baptist church of that place this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Ralph Snyder will be in charge and burial will be at the Monroe cemetery.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Irene Griffin, Mrs. Bessie Rollins and Mrs. Nola Simpson, of Monroe, and two sons, J.D. Elliott, of this city, and H.L. Elliott, of Monroe.

Mr. Elliott was 60 years old, the son of the late Elijah and Patsy Elliott, of Anson county. He was a member of the Baptist churchh for 36 years. Mrs. Elliott has been dead seven years.
