Battles: Thru Tennessee Died: 15 May 1924 at Elrod, Ripley County, Indiana; buried at Wilmington Cemetery, Fiskburg, Kentucky Last Address: Dillsboro, Indiana.

Napoleon Bonaparte Elliott enlisted on 01 August 1862 by B. F. Robbins of the 7th Cavalry, at Falmouth, Kentucky, for a term of three years. Also, by Captain Wm. A. McGinety Company E of the 7th Kentucky Regiment of the United States Cavalry.
Napoleon B. Elliott, a Corporal of Company E, 7th Regiment, Kentucky Cavalry Volunteers, was enrolled on the 1st day of August 1862, at Demossville, Kentucky, for three years and reported as follows:
On Roll for January & February 1863 - Absent With Leave March & April 1863 - Discharged for disability April 18, 1863, Nashville, Tennessee. No evidence that the company was in action at Franklin, February 25, 1863. Co. Mg. Report March 14, 1863, shows him: Wounded in the right hand by accident - Regt. Hosp. records not on file. On Roll Company E, 7th Kentucky Cavalry for January & February 1863. William A. McGinety 2nd Lient. (subsequently Captain) is reported present. Regiment near Nashville, Tennessee, February 28, 1863. Company Mg. Reports show present for duty at Camp ? ? Kentucky, February 1 to 7, 1863 and Louisville, Kentucky from that date until March 1863. Report dated June 27, 1863, from Surgeon General's Office: Private Nap. B. Elliott, Co. E, 7th KY Cav. was admitted to No 19 GH, Nashville, Tenn March 17, 1863 with gun-shot wound in hip, diagnosis also given, Loss of Right Eye, caused by kick of mule, and discharged from service April 20, 1863. Marjorie's Note: One report says left hand and the other right hand.
Discharged: 18th of April 1863 at Nashville, Tennessee. Written on side of discharge Paper: "This soldier is at present at the USA General Hospital, No. 19, Nashville, Tennessee." Discharged because of loss of right eye - caused by kick of mule. Contraction of left hand from gun shot wound. Signed by Wm. Gorgon, Surgeon. Mailing address: Gardensville, (Gardnersville) Pendleton County, Kentucky.

Marjorie Stith Jones Notes: Napoleon Elliott was born 31 August 1839, the brother of Mary Elizabeth Elliott Mileham, brother-in-law of Alfred Mileham. He married twice, first to Helen E. Goshorn on 17 February 1864, Helen died in August 1896. Napoleon married second to Minnie Menefee on 06 October 1897, Minnie died circa December 1953 after moving back to Kentucky.
