Biography

Curtis and Elizabeth Elliott were married before 1802, when their daughter Lucinda was born in Virginia (perhaps today's West Virginia). Their son Lewis Elliott Sr. was born in 1805 what is today West Virginia. [1] This same source states Curtis and Elizabeth had a daughter (Lucinda) that married John V. Rhoads (misspelled Rhodes) in Kentucky. The Rhoads and Lewis Elliott Sr. family moved to Illinois around 1827.

Winters who is likely related to John Winters.)
  • 1811, Curtis and Elizabeth Elliott deeded 100 acres to William Elliott (Deed Book E, page 97) "Consideration was paternal affection and filial duty of Curtis and Elizabeth for William Elliott. Also in 1811, Curtis appears on a bond for William Elliott for constable of Montgomery County, Virginia.

Researcher's Note

The will of Thomas D. Elliott indicates Curtis is his son, Thomas died when Curtis was a child. The William Elliott referred to in Thomas' Will is likely a brother of Thomas D. Elliott. Another candidate for uncle to Curtis is the Robert Elliott living near Curtis in 1810, 1820 and 1830 census records. In January 2017, had no luck in connecting these men as brothers.
