This the 27 day of October 1877. This indenture made and entered into between G. C. Elliott [[ and Lutensey Elliott party of the first part & Samuel Bailey party of the second part. Witnesseth that the said G. C. Elliott Elliott-5572 and Lutensey Elliott Tinney-142 party of the first part has this day bargained and sold to the said Samuel Bailey party of the second part the following described land lying in Shelby County, Alabama & known as the N ½ of NE ¼ Sec. 1 T. 24 R 14, S ½ of NE ¼ Sec. 1, T 24 R 14 East, land subject to sale at Tuscaloosa, Ala containing 160 acres more or less & we G. C. and Lutensey Elliott warrant and defend the title of said land from all other claims or claimants to the said Samuel Bailey party of the second part for the sum of one hundred & fifty dollars the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged. This indenture made and entered into this the 27th day of Jany AD 1880 between George C. Elliott and his wife Lutinsey Ann Elliott, J. Amos Spiller and his wife Margaret E. Spiller, Elijah J. White White-22931 and his wife Ann M. White of the state and county aforesaid, Thomas A. Elliott Elliott-5664 of the county of Jefferson in said State of Alabama and Henry J. Elliott of the County of Calhoun and State of Mississippi parties of the first part, and Sam Bailey (colored) of Shelby County in said State of Alabama, party of the second part: Witnesseth That the said parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred & fifty dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said parties of the first part have bargained and sold, and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell and convey to said Sam Bailey party of the second part, the following described real estate lying in the county of Shelby, State of Alabama, to-wit: The North East quarter of Section (1) one, Township twenty four (24) of Range Fourteen (14) East, containing one hundred and fifty-five acres more or less. And the said Willaby Seale acknowledged before me on this day that being informed of the contents of the conveyance he signed the name of Thomas A. Elliott voluntarily on this day. This is to certify that I hereby appoint and constitute Willaby Seale of Shelby County, Ala my lawful attorney and legal representative in making a deed to a certain piece of land which did belong to my mother in her life time that the said Seale is authorized to make a deed to said land and to sign my name thereto and do all writing and assign any deed the same as if I was present and I hereby agree to any all writing that may be required in making said deed and will abide by the same. Thomas A. Elliott Personally appeared before me G. C. Jacks an acting Justice of the Peace in and for said County of Jefferson, State of Alabama, Thomas A.
