Biography

Birth and Early Years

Viola Luella Elliott was born on 9 March 1868 at Carroll County, Missouri.[1][2] She was listed as a 2-year-old resident in Oliver Elliott's household on the census report in 1870 at Morris Township, Carroll County, Missouri.[3] As "Lueler" she was listed as a 12-year-old daughter in the household of Oliver Elliott in 1880, in Moss Creek Township.[4]

Marriage and Family Life

On 10 March 1886, David Edward Philpott and Viola Luella Elliott obtained a marriage license at Carrollton, Carroll County, Missouri. They married in Carroll County, on 14 March 1886.[5][6] Sometime during 1889, Edward and Luella Philpott moved west from Missouri with their three eldest children, and settled eight to ten miles northwest of Lind, Adams County, Washington.[7][8] In 1900, she was listed in the household of her husband, David Edward Philpott, at Lind Precinct, Adams County, Washington. She reported that she had been born in March 1868, in Missouri, married 14 years, and had given birth to six children, all of them living.[2]

Death

Luella Elliott Philpott died on 13 Jul 1901 at her home on the Lind Coulee at age 33.[6][8][9] She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Lind, at the time of her death.[9] She was buried on 15 Jul 1901 at Lind Cemetery, Adams County, Washington.[9][10]
