Kathy, Thanks for your reply. What does 1850 census Amos A Elliott (age 41) was in Maidstone, Essex, Vermont, United States.[1]. I thought we were working on Arnold Adams Elliott (1808 - 1874).
I'm not sure why his name shows as Amos in 1850. I added the 1860 census with the name Arnold. Looks like the same family. His wife's name was Hannah Mariah; she is Hannah in 1850 and Maria in 1860. The children seem to match up - Nancy is probably married, Arnold A & Albert are the same ages, and Joseph M is probably Myron. What do you think?
