Biography

Joseph Ellis was born on October 24, 1662 in Medfield, Norfolk, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were John Ellis and Joan Willis.

Joseph Ellis married Lydia Lovell in Medfield on November 23, 1688. Together they had 3 children:^[1]

1. Lydia Ellis b. 4 Oct. 1689, married Elisha Bullen
2. Joseph Ellis b. 23 Nov. 1691, married Thamazin Adams, settled in Medway
3. John Ellis b. 13 May 1694, settled in Medway

Lydia Lovell Ellis died in Medfield on 11 June 1694,^[2] less than a month after delivering her third child.

Joseph then married Elizabeth Metcalf in 1695 Together they had 2 children:^[3]

1. James Ellis, b. 3 May 1697
2. Hannah Ellis, b. 24 Apr 1699, married Nathaniel Fisher
