Biography
This profile represents the "An Ellice" who married Edward Colver.
A previous version of this profile claimed, without source, that Ann Ellis Colver was the daughter of John Ellis and Ann Benjamin and born or baptized 1 Jul 1619 at Skipton, Yorkshire, England. Lacking support for these origins, the parents have been detached.
While there was an Anne, d/o John Ellis, baptized 6 July 1619 at Holy Trinity, Skipton, Yorkshire (West Riding),[1] there are at least a dozen Ann Ellises recorded b. 1618-1619. How do we know this is the Ann Ellis who m. Edward Colver?
As "An Ellice," she married Edward Colver (aka Culver) 19 September 1638 in Dedham, Massachusetts Bay Colony.[2]
Ann and Edward's marriage is the second one in the Dedham Church records (First Baptist Church of Dedham) The Rev. John Allin presided.
She died 4 December 1678 in Groton, New London, Connecticut.[citation needed]
Ann is buried with Edward in the Wightman Burying Ground in Groton, MA.[3]

The following is from Edward Colver Sr profile from Wikitree: "Edward Colver was born circa 1610 in England. arriving in the New World on the same ship as his future wife, Ann Ellis, who came with her Brother-in-law and Sister - Thomas FANNING born 1655 and Frances ELLIS who died 27 Apr 1704 in Stonington, CT." Does this help in establishing who Ann's parents are or even Edward's?
She has an entry in Great Migration Directory, which indicates her origins are unknown: Ellis, Ann: Unknown; 1638; Dedham [DeVR 126]. (She married Edward Culver.)
