Hi Danielle,

When I finish with Sarah's profile I'll take a look. It may be a few days. LOL Holy Cow, these families are velcroed together!

Thank you for the merge, Danielle, and the responses. The data in the profiles is becoming massive and difficult to understand. Thank you again! Barb

Hi Danielle, Thank you for adding this information on this William. He is indeed a different William than the man from Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Co. Your man from Newberry Co. is a likely cousin but we cannot connect him to William Winchester who had a wife named Sarah, widow of William Winchester in her husband's will c1796. His link is: Winchester-668. (see his wife for the Will) Indeed, there are so many Williams suggested from the early Thomas it has yet to be confirmed. We need to be able to "trace" them from place to place . . . if possible. Thank you again and let's not give up! Barb :)

RE: "I think his father may be Thomas. Reason is from a newspaper I have tried to transcribe;

Early history of the Winchesters"

Danielle, I agree, and have changed, in re: Your comment as follows: "The first Winchester. of whom we have my account in this part of our country were Thomas, William, and Douglas, who lived in what is now Carrabus county, but at that time a part of Mecklenburg, prior to the Revolutionary war. It is most probable that Thomas Winchester was the father of William and Douglas."
