Gregory Ellis was born on December 21, 1809, in Warren, Massachusetts, the son of Gregory Ellis and [[Unknown-278754|Polly Unknown].[1]
He married Amy Amanda Mellen in 1835.[2] They had five children in 17 years: four daughters and one son. In the 1855 state census he was listed as a manufacturer. [3]
In the 1870 census he was listed as a wool sorter living in Hartford, Connecticut
In 1880 he was living in Hartford, [4]
He died on March 18, 1885, in Warren, Massachusetts, having lived a long life of 76 years.[5]
