The 1850 Slave schedules show that Robert Ellis owned 23 slaves. In 1851 he bought four additional slaves from the estate of Thomas Weir. George, a child of Harriet who was sold seperately and Sarah with three of her children, Tempy Bill and an infant. In 1860 he owned 34 enslaved people[1].
