Biography

William was born about 1815 in Norwich, CT. William passed away in 1900 in Corinne, UT. He married three times:

1. Married, first, about 1838, Sophia Burbank. She was born in 1815, the daughter of Moses Burbank and Hannah Thatcher. She passed away in 1848. They had one son.
2. Married, second, about 1850, Sophia's sister Melonie Burbank and they had four more children. She died in 1869.
3. Married, third, in about 1883, Hannah Elizabeth Gillespie.

RESEARCH NOTE: There is a mystery/problem that needs to be resolved. Sophia's grave clearly shows she died in 1848. However, the death certificate for Ella Marie (b. 1857 and presumably the daughter of Melonie) states that her mother was Sophia. I am baffled and at a loss to explain this.
