When Henry Harvey Elmer was born on November 14, 1836, his father, Cleon, was 34 and his mother, Emily, was 27. He married Emma Amelia Knapp on March 10, 1859. They had six children in 40 years. He died on August 30, 1903, in Summerville, Oregon, at the age of 66, and was buried there.
"Cleon and Emily began to farm their new land and Emily became pregnant soon after arriving at White Pigeon. She gave birth to their fourth child and second daughter on June 4, 1834 and the baby was named Harriet.
