When Jane Elmer was born on November 19, 1711, in Windsor, Connecticut, her father, Joseph, was 33 and her mother, Jane, was 33. She married Ebenezer Coe in 1741 in Torrington, Connecticut. They had three children during their marriage. She had seven brothers and two sisters.

Jane is the great grand daughter of Edward Elmer, the man who brought the name Elmer to the New World
