Biography

Sallie Peeler was enumerated as wife at Goudeysville, Union County, South Carolina for the June 9, United States Census, 1880. She was noted as keeping house, born 1858 in South Carolina and married as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are self W A Peeler, daughter Unice Peeler and daughter Minnie Peeler.[1]

Sallie N Puler was enumerated as wife of the head of household in Grenard Street, Gaffney city Ward 2, 6, Cherokee County, South Carolina for the June 6, United States Census, 1900. She was noted as born May 1858 in South Carolina and had been married twenty-three years. She was the mother of seven children of which six were still living as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Wylie A Puler, daughter Eunice E Puler, daughter Blanche L Puler, son Robert E Puler, daughter Sarah E Puler, daughter Beenie A Puler, son Marion E Puler, boarder Perry Glenn, boarder Ada Glenn and boarder Leslie Glenn.[2]

Sallie N Peeler was enumerated as wife of the head of household at 205 Granard Street, Limestone Township, Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina for the April 15, United States Census, 1910. She was noted as born 1859 in South Carolina and had been married thirty-two years. She was the mother of seven children of which six were still living as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Wylie A Peeler, daughter Janie E Peeler and daughter Marion E Peeler.[3]

Sallie Peeler was enumerated as mother of the head of household at 303 Petty Street, Limestone, Cherokee County, South Carolina for the January 13, United States Census, 1920. She was noted as born 1859 in South Carolina and widowed as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Genie Humphries, son Walter Humphries, daughter Mary Humphries, son Gene Humphries and sister Marion Peeler.[4]

Sallie Peeler was enumerated as head of the household at 24 Howe Street, Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina for the April 7, United States Census, 1930. She was noted as born 1859 in South Carolina and widowed. She was first married at the age of twenty. She was a renter as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are daughter Marion Peeler, daughter Eugenia Humphries, son (grandson) Walter Humphries, daughter (granddaughter) Mary Humphries and son (grandson) Eugene Humphries.[5]

Sallie Elmore was listed as the mother of Geenie Peeler Humphries who died January 15, 1934 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina. The father was listed as W. A. Peeler and the late husband Walter Humphries.[6]

Sara Elmore was listed as the mother of Blanche Peeler Byars who died September 24, 1950 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina. The father was listed as Wylie A. Peeler and the husband Harry Byars as seen in an image of the original death certificate.[7]

Sarah Elmore Peeler is buried at Oakland Cemetery in Gaffney, Cherokee County, South Carolina, USA.[8]
