Biography
Thank you to K. Schmidt for the following information (sources pending) 1 Feb 2015:
There are some discrepancies you stated on this profile. The reason is that there were 2 Aaltje's and the discrepancies are due to their information being combined.
The Aaltje in this profile (this refers to Elrod-46 -- not this profile) was born 12-11-1765 in North Carolina and died 1-17-1790 in Bethabara, North Carolina. She married John Frederick Doll on 2-3-1789 in Rowan County, North Carolina. She is the daughter of Christopher and Aaltje Soelle Elrod.
The other Aaltje (this profile) was born 9-15-1764 in Conewago, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania to Adam Elrod (1744-1812) and Rachel Wainscott Elrod (1747-1816). She married George McKnight (1765-1847) and died 9-14-1814 in Stokes County, North Carolina. She is buried at Sharon United Methodist Church Cemetery, Forsyth County, North Carolina. I hope this clears things up for you! Thank you for all your work as it is helping me immensely.
Upon searching Wikitree, I discovered George McKnight, who could possibly be this Aaltje's husband, given his dates; however, I can't find any documentation about his parents yet. So I have not yet connected him. Fiscus-32 01:08, 2 February 2015 (EST)
Research Notes
McKnight Genealogy discusses the blood tything between Mcknight's and Elrods. Some lines are missing, but it does cover her husband, George McKnight. Also, the line I found missing was one of his cousin George's grandson only being listed as a baby. So, it was missing the cousin's wife and children. All of the cousin's siblings' marriages were listed, though. -- Anonymous McKnight, 22 Nov 2016
