Andrew Elwell, son of John Elwell and Mary Robinson, was born 22 Apr 1704 at Gloucester, Massachusetts.^[1][2]

Andrew, a fisherman, married Lydia Gearing on 12 Dec 1723 at Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.^[3] They had the following children:^[1]

• Lydia, b.17 Jul 1726;
• Andrew, b.1 Apr 1730;
• Abraham, b.4 Nov 1733;
• Isaac, b.13 Jul 1735;
• Abigail, b.4 Jul 1737.

Andrew bought the dwelling house and lane of Andrew Robinson on 6 Jan 1726/27.^[1]
